Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Anne Burrell. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, as well as the geography. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she says. Culinary Institute of America was a great location to learn. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. While in Italy the chef acquired an appreciation for and understanding of Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's an honor to be in a position to share this passion for food with other people.
