Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai MMA fighter as well as a mixed martial artist who is currently fighting in the flyweight division in the UFC. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina kept her winning streak going by winning a silver and bronze medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011 as well as the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she won the WMC World Championships. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko set her professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by TKO after round 2 and the subsequent 2 matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a hiatus to focus on kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko beat Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. Following the league's dissolution in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's superior strike skills allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended after this win. Antonina was offered a UFC contract following her victory. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight following her first fight via unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss by prevailing Lucie Prudilova's fight in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler who was able to win the fight by rear naked choke. It was the top fight of the night in that bout. Shevchenko had a win in her first three fights but then lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina has recently been knocked down by a TKO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
