Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B to create a unique blend. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine has the name Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by playing the piano and singing at church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The first track to showcase her voice was called Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it was remixed and has become a part of her set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was at the center of attention for the nation during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
