The dad James Colson Baker struggled with depression and unemployment as did his mother Sonia Alane left them when the age of nine. Baker was moved to Denver along with his father, and stayed there for a while. Baker was a target of bullying because he lived in poverty by other children. The first time Baker heard of rap was when he entered sixth class. Colson Baker, also known by the name Machine Gun Kelly, was born in Texas on the 22nd of April 1990. His music is famous for blending hip-hop trends of the present with rock. Prior to joining Bad Boy Records Baker released four mixtapes from 2007 to 2010. After delivering lyrics quicker than a bullet train and a soaring voice, the Cleveland rapper experienced a swift rise to fame in 2011. The rapper went from releasing self-released tapes to being signed to labels. The career of this Cleveland rapper skyrocketed after the release of his first mixtape late in 2011.
